Lawmakers Criticize Government's Inadequate Response to Bhote Koshi Flood

Kathmandu. Lawmakers have criticized the government's shortcomings in rescue, relief, and management following the Bhote Koshi flood. Speaking at a meeting of the Finance Committee of the Federal Parliament on the Bhote Koshi flood, Rastriya Swatantra Party lawmakers Lima Adhikari and Niti Ma Karki stated that the government has completely failed in disaster management, rescue operations, the chaotic state of holding centers, and the search for missing citizens.

Lawmaker Adhikari raised serious questions about the effectiveness of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority. "Every year, floods and landslides cause such huge loss of life and property, but despite having a separate body with budget and manpower, why is there always a weakness in preparedness and rescue?" she questioned.
