Gandaki Rural Municipality Faces Flood Devastation, Becomes Alternative Route

One of the major impacts of the devastating flood in the BhoteKoshi River, located on the China-Nepal border, on the coastal areas of BhoteKoshi and Trishuli rivers has been on Gorkha's Gandaki Rural Municipality. However, this rural municipality has now become a connectivity alternative after the disaster.

The highway is currently blocked due to a landslide in the Krishnabhir area caused by the flood. However, hundreds of vehicles are commuting using the Gandaki Rural Municipality area as an alternative. Presented here is a conversation focused on the work being done by Gandaki for an alternative road, the damage caused by the flood, and reconstruction, while the work to clear Krishnabhir, which is always at risk of landslides, is ongoing.
