Curfew Continues in Janakpur Amidst Communal Harmony Concerns

Janakpurdham. The curfew imposed in Janakpur on Thursday due to the protest against the Dewangunj incident in Sunsari has been extended to Friday, as the demonstration was heading towards inciting communal harmony. The administration states that the situation here is moving towards normalcy with the enforcement of the curfew.

The curfew order, which was implemented from 3:30 PM on Thursday, was relaxed for two hours on Friday morning. Chief District Officer Prem Prasad Luintel issued a statement saying that the curfew was partially relaxed to allow locals to purchase essential items such as milk, vegetables, fruits, and food grains to facilitate their daily lives. He urged everyone to purchase necessary items within the stipulated time and return to their homes, and thereafter, to fully comply with the curfew order.
