Government Announces New Salary Scale for Nepali Army, Civil Servants, Police, and Teachers

Kathmandu. The Government of Nepal has published a new salary scale for the Nepali Army, civil servants, police, and teachers. As per the decision of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Finance, Budget and Program Division has determined the new salary and facilities for various ranks of soldiers of the Nepali Army effective from Shrawan 1.

According to the new salary scale, the monthly salary scale for the highest position in the Nepali Army, the Chief of Army Staff, has been set at 90,594 rupees. While the initial salary for the Chief of Army Staff was 84,932 rupees, this amount has been fixed after adding two grades. Similarly, the total salary for a Lieutenant General has been determined at 87,085 rupees and for a Major General at 84,576 rupees.
