M Bank Technologies CEO Sanjay Mahaseth Discusses Digitalization of Cooperatives

Kathmandu. When the cooperative sector is mentioned, many minds may conjure up images of traditional ledger systems, cumbersome loan processes, and the recent wave of distrust. However, some institutions are continuously working to make this sector transparent, swift, and equipped with digital facilities similar to banks through the use of technology.

The institution providing digital banking platforms to over 600 cooperatives and microfinance institutions in Nepal is 'M Bank Technologies Private Limited'. This journey, which began in 2016 with simple SMS banking, has now reached the stage of bank transfers, QR payments, utility payments, and even digital loan disbursement.
