Residential and Intern Doctors Start Protest Over Unpaid Salaries

Kathmandu. Residential and intern doctors have started a sit-in protest from today. Residential and intern doctors have staged a protest in medical colleges across the country.

They have taken to the streets after their regular salaries were stopped. The 'Medical Education Struggle Campaign' had announced a nationwide phased protest program starting yesterday, Wednesday, against the corruption and irregularities rampant in the medical education and health sector. In the first phase, PG and intern doctors had done a pennedown yesterday, Wednesday. The campaign concludes that college operators are trying to create illegal and unscientific pressure on the state by forcing doctors and health workers to protest.
