Seven Workers Dead, 13 Injured in Uttarakhand Tunnel Collapse

At least seven workers have died and 13 have been injured in a landslide with water and debris in an under-construction tunnel in the Himalayan state of Uttarakhand, India. Officials said on Friday that three more are still missing after the accident that occurred on Thursday night.

The accident occurred at the site where a tunnel is being constructed for a state-run hydropower project. According to the State Disaster Management Authority, 19 workers have been rescued from the construction site of Tehri Hydroelectric Corporation. It has been informed that 13 injured are undergoing treatment.
