World theatre day
Background:
World Theater Day is celebrated every year on March 27 with the aim of raising public awareness and motivation through drama to eliminate the evil prevalent in the society. After the International Theater Organization started celebrating the day in 1961, artists from all over the world started celebrating it.
The International Theatre Institute (ITI) established World Theatre Day in 1962 as a day to honor and celebrate the beauty, creativity, hard work, and artistry that go into all elements of theatrical production. It was also intended to remind people of the immense impact that theatre can have, whether it is celebrated locally or globally.
World Theatre Day is still sponsored by ITI, the World Organization for Performing Arts, and is also supported by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.
Importance of Theatre
Millions of people around the world adore the performing arts. Productions need weeks, if not months, of planning, and everyone must collaborate to produce a polished result. The playwright develops the ideal narrative, language, and action. Directors and performers create characters and learn lines that will help the writer’s vision come to life. The stage is designed by the production team. The entire production is brought together by music, lights, and choreography, and the story is told beneath the lights in front of a busy auditorium.
World Theatre Day 2025 Theme
World Theatre Day was established in 1961 by the International Theatre Institute (ITI). Every year on March 27, ITI Centres and the international theatre fraternity commemorate it. Every year, several international and domestic theatre events are scheduled to honor the anniversary of World Theatre Day.
To do this, every year on March 27, a theme is followed for the past 60 years. The theme for World Theatre Day 2025 is "Theatre and a Culture of Peace. "ITI doesn't designate any specific theme for World Theatre Day every year. Every year, the theme for World Theatre Day is “Theatre and a Culture of Peace”.
Theatre in Nepal
Theatre is considered as an influential genre that portrays human life as a whole and found to be effective in moving the society on the right path, removing anomalies and distortions.
Lately, the attraction of the young generation in Nepali theater is also increasing. But their economic condition has not improved. In this situation where actors are saying that it is difficult to make a living just by acting in dramas, let the concerned bodies pay attention to the management, promotion and professional safety of theatre workers. Best wishes.

Pradosh Vrata
Triodashi is called Pradosh. Like Ekadashi, Pradosh is important every month, Vishnu is remembered in Ekadashi and Shiva is remembered in Pradosh. Pradosh begins 45 minutes before sunset and ends 45 minutes after sunset.
Pradosha Katha
It is mentioned in the scriptures that Lord Shiva cured the disease of the moon on the day of Triodashi, when the effect of the moon was diminishing.
Due to this, Pradosh Vrat is observed in Triodashi of every month in remembrance of Lord Shiva. It is more fruitful to worship Shiva in the time of pradosh.
Meaningful wishes
