Spiritual Discourse led by Guru Sri Swami Chidananda Giri





Kathmandu, March 1, 2025 – The President and Spiritual Head of Yogoda Satsanga Society of India (YSS) / Self-Realization Fellowship (SRF), USA; Sri Sri Swami Chidananda Giri, addressed an audience of approximately 500 members of the Paramahansa Yogananda Dhyana Samaj of Nepal, along with their families and well-wishers, at an event held at the Ullens School

Auditorium, Khumaltar, Lalitpur.
In his address, Swami Chidananda Giri highlighted on the spiritual dimension of human life, elaborating on the importance of meditation and the profound achievements one can attain in the  new era by following the path of Kriya Yoga. He delivered an inspiring spiritual discourse that provided deep insights into these aspects.

His discourse followed a 45-minute guided meditation session led by SRF Swami Sri Saralananda of SRF. During his speech, Swami Chidananda Giri highlighted the key teachings that Guru Paramahansa Yogananda brought to the world, emphasizing:

-A universal approach to truth applicable equally in both Eastern and Western countries.

-A revolutionary reinterpretation of the concept of God—realizing God within ourselves.

- Step-by-step spiritual practices leading to God-realization.

- The unity of all religions with humanity—"Every person is my own brother."

- A comprehensive program on "How to Live" for a balanced life.

- The true understanding of the Guru-disciple relationship.

- How seeking refuge in Kriya Yoga can bring joy and success in life.

- The significance of continuous study of Autobiography of a Yogi in realizing life's ultimate purpose.

- The reminder that Kriya Yogis are scattered worldwide in one large spiritual family under Guruji’s teachings.

Additionally, Swami Chidananda Giri shared inspiring insights into the contributions made by YSS/SRF through its global meditation temples, ashrams, and centers, emphasizing their role in humanitarian and spiritual activities. He also clarified the scientific and spiritual significance of Kriya Yoga, as followed by the ancient sages of Sanatana Dharma and modern spiritual masters, explaining the transformative impact it can have on individuals' lives.

Expressing his joy over his first visit to Nepal, he emphasized Nepal's rich heritage as a sacred land of spiritual wisdom and practice. He also recalled the deep love and goodwill shown toward Nepal and its people by the former SRF/YSS President, Sri Sri Daya Mata, who visited Nepal twice in 1962 and 1968.

Reflecting on the deep spiritual vibrations he experienced in Nepal, Swami Chidananda Giri remarked, “If we look at life in a triangular form, its two sides represent calmness and sweetness, while its base is happiness.” He reaffirmed the organization's commitment to spreading Paramahansa Yogananda’s teachings, particularly Kriya Yoga.

At the conclusion of the event, senior member of the Paramahansa Dhyana Samaj, Nepal, Dr. Ashok Baskota, extended gratitude to all the Swamis present on the occassion.

YSS/SRF is a spiritual organization founded over 100 years ago by the world-renowned spiritual master Sri Sri Paramahansa Yogananda, the author of the best-selling spiritual classic, Autobiography of a Yogi.
